A Few Fun Workouts

I love 10 minute workout videos. I’ll do several of them at a time or in a day, or I’ll just workout with the same video three times. I don’t enjoy full length 30+ minute videos as much. I think I just like the 10 minute countdown. I mean, I can handle anything for 10 minutes. 30 minutes? Not so much. What can I say? I’m a wuss.

I’m sure as I get stronger 30 minutes will seem doable. In the meantime, I’ll just stick with my 10 minute videos.

Here’s what I did today:

Tracy Anderson butt and abs (I can't make it embed for some reason and Blogger can't find it):

10 minute Buti class (You‘ll feel like an idiot doing this, but it‘s so fun. It‘s a combination of dance and yoga):

Tracy Anderson arms (No hand weights and, yet, so hard.):

Blogilates and Running

Today for my workout I did a Blogilates video for the first time. It was a good full body workout. At times my legs hurt so bad I wanted to punch that perky little girl.

After my workout I did something gutsy. I ran. Not fast, or far, or even outside (I did some laps in my basement). It felt awesome. It made me wonder if it’s possible for someone my size to run regularly without blowing out a knee, or an ankle, or a brain artery. I did a Google search to find that, while there are conflicting views, it seems possible. It comes down mostly to going slow and building endurance. And shoes. Having a good pair of shoes that can take some of the impact my big butt’s gonna throw down is vital.

I liked the advice in an article from Live Strong, to build up from brisk walking. I think I’m going to give it a try.

Yoga Booty Ballet

I didn’t know that Yoga Booty Ballet was a thing until I saw the video that follows. I guess it’s something they’ve been pushing through infomercials. Wherever it came from it sounds so silly I almost skipped it, but I do love yoga, so I decided to try it.

It’s insanely fun. I’m not coordinated enough to do it gracefully, but it gave me a good workout (I did the first video 3 times). I’ll probably not buy any of the videos because I’m cheap and tend to get bored with the same old workout, but there are a lot of videos on YouTube (how I love YouTube) to follow along with.

Here’s a longer one that I haven’t done yet, but plan on doing later today (Edit: I did this one and can say that it is an awesome butt workout. There is a lot of New Age spirituality mentioned regarding your inner goddess. If you like that or can get passed it, it's a lot of fun.

2Fly Hip Hop Workout

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I’m not a fan of working out. I’ve gotten so fat and out of shape that it’s uncomfortable. Not the kind of uncomfortable that makes you feel awesome because you’re working hard and making progress. It’s the kind of uncomfortable that makes you feel like you might have a massive coronary and die. My workouts have to be fun, otherwise I give up like a big baby (you don’t see kicking and screaming in my blog’s description for nothing).  I have to get myself into better shape in order to get in better shape.

This is where YouTube comes in handy. I have found so many great workouts on there. Today I did a 2Fly Hip Hop workout that was so much fun. It’s one I know I’ll do over and over.
